Eco-schools programme

CHAPTERS

Sustainable Thinking for the Future

In the 2023/24 school year, we joined the internationally recognized Eco-Schools program, which encourages young people to understand environmental challenges and act responsibly in their daily lives.

The program combines sustainable development with care for nature and develops competencies that enable students to actively participate in shaping decisions that are important for their future. In this way, students help create a more responsible and sustainable society.

Through our joint efforts, we are building a school that promotes a responsible attitude toward the environment and actively contributes to a sustainable future.

Areas of Activity

Our activities focus on:

  • conservation of nature and biodiversity,
  • addressing climate change,
  • the circular economy,
  • responsible stewardship of food and natural resources.

Students actively participate in these efforts, developing critical thinking, collaboration skills, and a sense of responsibility toward the environment and the community.

Green Flag

Thanks to our successful activities, we have been awarded the Green Flag—an international recognition of schools’ environmental performance under the auspices of the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education).

This is the only public and international recognition of its kind for Slovenian schools, confirming our commitment to sustainable values and high-quality work in the field of environmental education.
